Computer Facilities
Indus has a well equipped computer lab connected with a wireless LAN. The wireless LAN makes it possible for any faculty member or student to easily connect to the campus network.
Internet facility is provided through a wireless link and is available for all students for conducting online research. Internet access is also available in the hostels.
A Computer Maintenance Cell takes care of all the hardware and software problems of the computer hardware located in campus and in the hostels.
Every student is provided their own email-ID under the college domain name for their personal and academic use.
Students who wish to purchase their own desktops or laptops will be assisted by the college in finding the lowest cost vendors and in getting good maintenance contracts. The students can also avail the services of the Computer Maintenance Cell for their H/W and S/W problems.
The college maintains a strong interest in open source software and will endeavor to promote and provide open source software because of its appropriateness for a developing country like India. Every student is provided a CD containing the latest versions of open source software. They will be trained in the use of these software tools.
WIFI CAMPUS
The college has a 24 hours leased 3 mbps (Broad Band) internet connectivity. The departments are networked with LAN/WAN, connecting all the labs, staff rooms and library. The Network Operations Centre is equipped with five IBM servers and one HCL Net Manager configured as file servers and hosts for the different softwares. Ample computing facilities are provided linking each student with a PC. There are more than 600 computers with latest configuration in all the labs.
The campus has become a WIRELESS CAMPUS by implementing WI- FI technology ie students and staff of Indus can access the complete network and browse internet sitting anywhere in the campus by using LAPTOPS.
